DISTRICT PROFILE
Vallehermoso District has produced a number of professionals in the past 78 years of existence.It has seventeen (17) complete elementary schools, two (2) primary schools and four (4) high schools. Five (5) elementary schools and one (1) high school are situated in the lowland, fourteen (14)elementary and three (3) of them are hinterland schools. Nineteen (19) of this schoolsare managed by administrators with item and four (4) are run by Teacher-In-Charge. It has a total population of 6,978pupils in elementary and 2,473 students in High School. Ithas eighty three (83) school buildingsin elementary and 33 school buildings in high school, the oldest of which is the Gabaldon, which date back during the pre-war era, theAldana and Trinidad buildings.Most of these rooms were designated as evacuation centers when the need arises.
Table 1 reflects the profile of the elementary school and secondary school administrators in the district. I can be noted that eight (8) of these administrators are full-fledged Master of Arts in Education, one (1) finished Doctor of Education Program and the two of them having some units in the same program. The rest of the school administrators have considerable units in the Masteral Program. From the data, it can be deduced that almost all the school administrators are competent enough to run their school considering their educational qualification. However, in terms of supervisory experience most of them have less being new in the administrative stream by virtue of that Qualifying Examination for Principal. Data imply that these new administers need training in order to equip them with necessary supervisory skills.
Outside the regular curriculum, the district is also offering a kindergraten classes handled by a professional teacher who receives regular salary from the government and some whose salary is subsidized by DepED. SPED Center is also conducting classesfor Children with Disabilities (CWD) and Alternative Learning System (ALS) conducting classes at the different barangays
